This article will show you how to check your update settings for iOS and Android devices to make sure everything is up to date and reduce the risk of compromised device.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

Update iPhone automatically<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

If you didn\u2019t turn on automatic updates when you first set up your iPhone, do the following:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  1. Go to Settings \"Apple\u00a0> General\u00a0> Software Update.<\/li>\r\n
  2. Tap Customize Automatic Updates (or Automatic Updates). You can choose to automatically download and install updates.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    When an update is available, iPhone downloads and installs the update overnight while charging and connected to Wi-Fi. You\u2019re notified before an update is installed.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Update iPhone manually<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    At any time, you can check for and install software updates.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Go to Settings \"Apple\u00a0> General\u00a0> Software Update.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    The screen shows the currently installed version of iOS and whether an update is available.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Check & update your Android version<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    You can find your device’s Android version number, security update level, and Google Play system level in your Settings app. You’ll get notifications when updates are available for you. You can also check for updates.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    1. Open your phone’s Settings app.<\/li>\r\n

    3. See your “Android version” and “Security patch level.”<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      Get the latest Android updates available for you<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      When you get a notification, open it and tap the update action.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      If you cleared your notification or your device has been offline:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        Get security updates & Google Play system updates<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        Most system updates and security patches happen automatically. To check if an update is available:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        1. Open your device\u2019s Settings app.<\/li>\r\n
        2. Tap\u00a0Security<\/strong>.<\/li>\r\n
        3. Check for an update:\r\n
